Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how STUDY w HK (“the Site”) handles visitor data. The Site is operated by virtualHi. Questions can be directed to info@virtualhi.hk.

1. What we do not collect

The calculators are client-side only. Marks, ranks, family details and other scoring inputs stay in your browser — they are never uploaded to our servers or any third party, and we have no way to see, store or back them up.

We do not ask you to register an account. The email field on the feedback form is optional; that address is sent only if you type it in.

2. Cookies and browser storage

The Site uses the following categories of cookies and local storage:

• Essential cookies / localStorage — record your choice on the consent banner (for example study.consent.v1) and remember calculator inputs or settings (for example study.sspa.*, study.banding.*, study.poa.*) so you do not have to re-enter them. These stay on your device.
• Analytics cookies — enabled only if you accept, to measure page views and navigation path. See section 3.
• Advertising cookies — enabled only if you accept, set by Google AdSense and its ad partners to measure ad performance and, if you have consented to personalised ads, show ads relevant to your interests. See section 3.

You can clear or block cookies any time via your browser settings. The Site’s core functions (calculators and guides) keep working with cookies fully disabled; saved inputs will not be restored after you clear storage.

3. Third-party services

• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (performance monitoring) — provided by Vercel Inc., measuring page load times and Core Web Vitals. Vercel Analytics is cookie-less and does not track individual visitors. SeeVercel’s privacy policy.
• Google Analytics 4 (site analytics, optional) — enabled only after you click “Accept” on the consent banner. Aggregate metrics such as page views, visitor country and device type. We have enabled IP anonymisation (anonymize_ip). SeeGoogle’s privacy policy.
• Google AdSense (advertising, optional) — loaded only after you accept, to keep the Site free. Opt out of personalised ads atGoogle Ad Settings. SeeGoogle’s advertising and cookies policy.
• Web3Forms — processesfeedbacksubmissions and emails them to the operator. SeeWeb3Forms’ privacy policy.

4. Consent management

The Site uses Google Consent Mode. Advertising and analytics storage default to “denied”. You have to click “Accept” before Google Analytics or Google AdSense enable tracking cookies or personalised advertising. You can reset your choice any time by clearing your browser data.

5. Children’s privacy

The Site is built for parents and is not intended to collect data from children under 13. Marks and ranks typed into the calculators stay in your browser. Questions: info@virtualhi.hk.

6. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Please review periodically.
